Abstract

The Urban Nature Project is the Natural History Museum’s bold response to accelerating biodiversity loss and urbanisation, reimagining its underused grounds as a dynamic educational landscape. Led by Feilden Fowles, the transformation integrates two sensitively designed timber and stone pavilions – the Nature Activity Centre and Garden Kitchen – into a revitalised network of outdoor galleries. These additions align with the museum’s legacy of progressive renewal, zoning the site from prehistoric past to ecological futures.
