Abstract
Clarifies enforcement powers given to local authorities under the Building (Scotland) Act 2003. Presents an overview of the building standards system and then details various notices for building regulations compliance, continuing requirement enforcement, building warrant enforcement, defective and dangerous buildings. Sets out the process for evacuating buildings, serving notices, powers of entry, consultation for listed buildings, prosecution, recovering expenses and other offences.
