Publication Year

Abstract
Categorises the three main fixing types: cast-in, expanding, and bonded. The behaviour of these types under different types of load is described, together with the effect of high temperature (including fire conditions) and low temperature on load capacity. The variables to be considered for structural use of fixings are discussed, and the limitations which base materials impose on the use of certain fixings are explained. Suggestions are made for guaranteeing durability and preventing corrosion. Aids to correct site installation and attendant problems are given.
