Abstract
Recommendations are given on the siting of grade separated junctions in urban and rural areas, alternative layouts, geometric design and the treatment for pedestrians and cyclists. Some aspects of signs and road markings are included.

DMRB 6.2.2. Supersedes TA 48/86. Design manual for roads and bridges (DMRB). Old series - DMRB Departmental Advice Notes (Traffic Engineering and Control). Superseded by TD 22/06. Not formally implemented by the NRA for use in Ireland, but should be considered as background reading. In some cases the NRA DMRB continues to reference parts of the UK DMRB that have been superseded or withdrawn from the UK DMRB.
