Abstract
Hospitals and health care buildings (LG2:1989). Hospitals and health care buildings are complex because of the wide variety of activities which take place within them. The visual requirements of many of these activities are exacting and the lighting system must meet these requirements fully if clinical tasks are to be performed safely and efficiently. Other functions, such as the long-term care of the elderly or handicapped, require lighting schemes which will help to create a reassuring domestic atmosphere. This guide provides authoritative guidance on all aspects of lighting for these buildings and their surroundings.
