Abstract
The purpose of the study is to advise on the health aspects of buildings: the influence of design of buildings on the health of the occupants, with particular reference to domestic housing. It considers specific issues which are capable of control through building regulation and assesses both their importance and the strength of medical evidence available. It reviews the effects on public health of noise, lighting, domestic waste, food storage, sanitation, temperature, dampness, available living space and indoor air quality in buildings.
