Report BR 107 Part 2 Structural adequacy and durability of large panel system dwellings. Part 2: Guidance on appraisal
Publication Year
1987
Document Status

Abstract
Gives guidance on appraisal of structural adequacy and durability. It is based on the investigations of the construction of LPS dwellings and on experience of appraisal of other building types. In this report, the durability assessment of LPS dwellings is primarily concerned with the likelihood of corrosion of the reinforcement occurring in the precast reinforced concrete components, which in some circumstances has lead to cracking and spalling. The guidance in this report is necessarily general. It is appropriate for the engineer to interpret and apply its recommendations to the particular circumstances of the building being appraised on the basis of his engineering judgement.
