Report BR 210 Engineering guide to seismic risk to dams in the United Kingdom
Publication Year
1990
Document Status
Current
Abstract
It relates specifically to the safety of UK dams and reservoirs under seismic loading. The risk to a dam from seismicity depends on the stability of the dam under the combination of loading due to all causes applicable at the time. Seismic loading should not therefore be dissociated from other forms of loading nor from the state and condition of the dam. While this Guide deals only with aspects directly involving seismic risk, those responsible for reservoir safety must take all factors into account in accordance with accepted good practice.
