Abstract
The Department of the Environment issued a letter on 14 May 1981 informing Local Authorities of defects in Airey Duo-slab 2 houses and suggesting that the structural columns of houses of this type be inspected. Subsequently local authorities and other owners have sent to the BRE reports of inspections which they have made. This note, which brings together this information and the conclusions reached on the technical issues, aims to assist Airey house owners and their representatives in deciding locally on appropriate action.
