Abstract
Describes a method of estimating future energy use and carbon dioxide emissions for the United Kingdom housing stock and presents the results of a scenario based on this method. This method relies on BRE's energy balance model BREHOMES and the resulting scenario can be used to judge progress towards the UK's aim, under the Climate Change Convention, of returning carbon dioxide emissions to 1990 levels by the year 2000.
