Abstract

Reviews the method of design of composite slabs and beams to BS ENV 1994 Eurocode 4: Part 1.1, which is based on plastic section analysis principles for Class 1 and 2 sections. Design tables are presented to aid quick selection of the steel beams. Generic deck profiles are used to cover the main design cases for uniformly and point loaded composite beams.
