Abstract

Provides interim design guidance on an alternative form of composite construction, comprising two mild steel plates connected to a concrete core using shear stud connectors. Possible applications include submerged tube-tunnels, building cores, gravity sea-walls, floating breakwater, Arctic-wall structures, caissons, nuclear structures, liquid containment and defence structures.
