Abstract
Describes developments in European standards for exterior wood coatings. A guide to classification and selection for exterior wood coatings has been completed already, to improve the communication between manufacturers and users and to assist sound specification. It will eventually be supported by test methods which will in turn form the basis of a performance specification. This group of standards forms part of the range of construction-related European standards intended to reduce technical barriers to trade and support the formation of the single European market.
