Abstract
Provides guidance on the use of Standard BD61, the Assessment of Composite Highway Bridges and Structures (referred to as the Standard). The major part of this document is contained in Annex A which is set out in the form of a commentary on the Standard. It contains explanations for the main changes from the design code, BS 5400-5:1979, and gives advice on the interpretation of the assessment requirements.
