National Records of Scotland
The National Records of Scotland are responsible for the registration of births, marriages, civil partnerships, deaths, divorces, and adoptions. They use the census to publish information on the population of Scotland. Created on 1 April 2011 by the merger of two national institutions, the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS) and the National Archives of Scotland (NAS).
