The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is the global professional body promoting and enforcing international standards in the valuation, management and development of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. In 2001, the Institute of Building Control merged with RICS; followed by the Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers, which merged with RICS in 2006.
