We caught up with Adam White, CEO and Founder of Intelligent Membranes, to find out how the manufacturer is working more closely with specifiers through NBS Source and the RIBA CPD Providers Network.
“We’re most famous product for our Passive Purple, which is a Passivhaus certified airtight fluid applied vapour control which can guarantee 0.6 ach or lower on any building,” Adam explained.
The product comes in two forms: a paint-on version which has fibres in it to span the larger gaps in a fabric, such as OSB joints or service penetrations; and a spray or roll-applied version. Passive Purple is suitable for any kind of construction project, including retrofit.
Passive Purple External is an airtight, waterproof and vapour open membrane. Just like Passive Purple, the external version also comes in two forms. Passive Purple External is UV stable, comes in any colour and is also an anti-carbonisation product which means that it can protect concrete from carbon damage.
“Although we call it Passive Purple External, it can be used internally and it’s great for heritage projects where the walls need to breathe just that little bit more,” Adam said.
Intelligent Membranes also launched two new products in the summer of 2023:
Passivhaus Brickseal is a clear external waterproof membrane for masonry new and old builds. It protects U-Values and help to stop damp coming through on projects where building the can not be changed externally. The second product, Poseidon, is a liquid-applied waterproof tanking system for tiled bathrooms, wet rooms and POD enclosers.
“Our products help specifiers and the wider industry as they form a system which future proofs projects and clients from potential replacements costs,” Adam said.
We joined NBS as we believe that it is by far the best specification platform around."
“Using Source has improved our specification process considerably, as we are now able to reach specifiers when they are looking for the ideal products for their projects. We’re able to host our product data, third party certification and case studies all in one place, making it easier than ever for specifiers to find out everything they need to know about our product range.”
Intelligent Membranes is also a member of the RIBA CPD Providers Network, a group of construction industry businesses and organisations committed to improving standards and promoting best practice through shared knowledge.
Providers can offer their CPD in a variety of formats such as seminars, articles, factory tours, videos and even podcasts, there’s also a range of online and in-person events where Providers can present their CPD to RIBA members.
All members of the RIBA CPD Providers Network have had their materials assessed and approved by the RIBA’s own team of qualified technical experts, so delegates can be reassured that the CPD they participate in will be high-quality.
