Abstract
Intended to remind and inform designers and site supervisory staff of ways of avoiding some of the most troublesome defects which have beset Local Authority housing. This Defect Action Sheet covers flat roofs: built-up bitumen felt - remedying rain penetration. Failures discussed include rain penetration through roof membrane. Defects discussed include inadequate provision to isolate felt from building movements.
