Abstract
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are used as refrigerants in some building air conditioning systems. These systems tend to be very large and strategically important. The European Community has recently agreed to bring forward the phasing-out of CFCs to the beginning of 1995. This paper gives owners and operators of air conditioning systems (and their consultants) advice on the possible options for coping with the CFC phase-out.
