Abstract

Centenary Building at the University of Salford, awarded the 1996 Stirling Prize, was completed quickly and to a tight budget to take advantage of EU funding. Accommodation includes seminar rooms, video-editing suites, lecture halls. Working details of escape stair is enclosed in glass block screen. Other materials include stainless steel cladding and concrete.
