Abstract

Calcium nitrite based corrosion inhibitors for reinforced concrete, to provide increased protection against reinforcement corrosion. The products are for use in reinforced and prestressed concrete with a free water/cement ratio of 0.45 or lower, and have no known detrimental effects on the properties of the cured concrete. The products are for use in reinforced concrete structures, with particular applications in sever or very sever exposure conditions, such as marine installations, chemical works, power plants, docks and harbour works and bridges. They are also for use in structures subject to de-icing salts, such as multi-storey car parks.
