Abstract
Provides guidance on the planning and design of intensive therapy units which form part of a District General Hospital. It reflects current thinking on the future role of ITUs and is intended to facilitate good management and achieve cost effective running costs. The guidance relates to stand-alone ITUs for adults and children, with dedicated support facilities.
