Abstract
Provides guidance on fire safety standards for existing NHS hospitals. It should be used for the upgrading of fire precautions and; minor alterations.

From April 2007, this document should be considered superseded by DH's HTM 05-02, now issued. Should be read in conjunction with HTM 85/86 Information supplement. Also part of the NHS Firecode series. Previously listed under Department of Health as publisher. This document is now under review, see "Firecode: Fire safety in the NHS: Guidance in support of functional requirements" DOH, 2005. Superseded by HTM 05-02.
