Abstract

Potentially beneficial to project managers, designers, contractors and construction industry clients who are looking for cost effective ways of speeding up the exchange of project information. For clients and project managers it illustrates the importance of establishing a project team culture and a consistent IT infrastructure to enable substantial savings and efficiencies through the use of IT. It also shows that benefits should be assessed both for individual organisations and for a project as a whole. For members of the project team it illustrates the management, technical and staff requirements needed to participate in such a project. For a small investment considerable gains can be made to speed up the transfer of project information.
