Abstract
These recommendations apply to fire safety considerations concerning fork-lift trucks powered by battery, diesel or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which are commonly employed within industrial premises.

Formed from a merger of the Fire Offices Committee, the Fire Insurers Research and Testing Organisation and the Insurers Technical Bureau in 1984, the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) later went on to develop a certification body, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), itself taken over by BRE Certification in April 2000. Other LPC documents are now available from the Fire Protection Association.
