Abstract
The main objectives of this study were to: provide a critical review of the literature on structural aspects of ASR in reinforced and prestressed concrete; identify components or forms likely to be susceptible to brittle failure or likely to precipitate collapse because of their sensitivity to the effects of ASR; discuss the implications of the review; and propose analytical models suitable for calculating the loading capacity of reinforced and prestressed concrete elements affected by ASR.
