Abstract
The Ambulatory Care and Diagnostic centre concept seeks to provide the full range of elective day-care services independently from elective and emergency in-patient services. This case study reports the process the Trust followed in developing a design solution to bring the concept to reality.
Document History
Archived publications are still available but should be used in the context that practice may have moved on or new technology emerged since their production. Some of these documents may not have been superseded or replaced due to their content not being healthcare specific. Documents marked historic are relevant to the time they were produced, such as case studies and may not be updated or superseded in the future. The Health Facilities Notes (HFN) series has been discontinued. Individual titles have been subsumed under their relevant sections in the NHS catalogue but existing HFN numbers are still noted. HFNs will continue to be listed under this series name in TCIS. Replaced by Diagnostic and treatment centres - ACAD, Central Middlesex Hospital - an evaluation, but retained as a historic document which gives relevant background information.
