Abstract
Defines general ventilation and gives information on fresh air requirements. It also looks at the principles and use of general ventilation as a means of controlling exposure to substances hazardous to health as required under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations (COSHH 1999) and the associated Codes of Practice. It gives the current ventilation standards and advises on how to achieve effective general ventilation in the workplace. It outlines the methods used to assess the effectiveness of ventilation systems and sets out the legislation on requirements to ensure effective ventilation. The guide also contains sources of further information.
