Abstract
Aimed at all those with responsibilities for reducing noise exposure at work. It gives guidance on legal duties, specifically under the Noise at Work Regulations 1989, and offers employers advice on introducing control measures, selecting ear protection, and choosing a competent person to carry out a noise assessment. It also gives advice to the competent person on what is required of a noise assessment.
