Abstract
Little information is available for cut and cover tunnels where top down construction is employed. Field instrumentation has therefore been installed to investigate the performance of the diaphragm walls of a tunnel during and after construction. Measurements of the porewater pressures and ground movements were taken during wall installation and at all stages of tunnel construction, lateral movement and bending moments were also measured.
