Report 461 Harmonised European standard test methods for asphalt mixtures

Abstract

The national specifications and test methods across Europe are being harmonised by the Comite European de Normalisation (CEN). The current intention is that the package of CEN specifications and test methods for asphalt will be adopted in December 2003, when equivalent national standards will have to be withdrawn. Therefore all sides of the industry need to familiarise themselves with the new standards that they will have to use to plan their future strategy accordingly. This review is intended for users currently working with British Standards, and is only current at the time of writing (May 2000) because some of the draft standards may have significant changes.
