Publication Year

2001

Document Status

Abstract

Reviews the present level of provision of mechanical, electrical, communications, monitoring, traffic control and safety equipment provided in highway tunnels. This report sets out a methodology for conducting site specific value management audits of highway tunnel operation and maintenance procedures. The methodology is intended to be appropriate both to new tunnels and the review of procedures during the life of the tunnel. The work described in this report has also contributed to the drafting of the advice note on highway tunnel maintenance (BA 72).
