Abstract
Blastfurnace slag and steel slag are widely used as aggregates, in particular for highways construction and maintenance, and the various types of slag products have different properties and characteristics. This Information Paper provides specifiers and users with information on the types of slag products currently available and their recommended uses. This information is of particular interest to engineers involved in the construction and maintenance of highways, docks and similar paved areas. It includes some frequently asked questions, together with sources of further help and information, and codes and standards relevant to the production, testing and use of slag products.
