Abstract
Quiet lanes are intended to form a network of country lanes, for use by walkers, cyclists and equestrians as well as by motor vehicles. Quiet lanes have the following criteria: narrow single track road, low flow, not a main access route, no street lighting and national speed limit. One of the two pilot projects under investigation here is Greensand ridge (West Kent).
