Abstract
These recommendations apply to the design, installation and operation of organic thermal fluid heating systems in relation to both liquid phase and vapour phase applications and deal specifically with fire safety aspects.

Formed from a merger of the Fire Offices Committee, the Fire Insurers Research and Testing Organisation and the Insurers Technical Bureau in 1984, the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) later went on to develop a certification body, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), itself taken over by BRE Certification in April 2000.
