Abstract
Sets out the Electricity Safety Rules and Procedures which are to be adopted throughout the Ministry of Defence estate wherever the responsibility for the Health and Safety of personnel is assigned to the Commanding Officers, Chief Executives or Heads of Establishments. These Rules and Procedures relate to: working on, working near, testing or the operation of, Electrical Equipment and systems for which Ministry of Defence is responsible, either in the United Kingdom or overseas, the responsibilities for the control of electrical danger, the selection and appointment of competent persons to carry out the functions of Authorising Engineer, Authorised Person, Skilled Person, Person in Charge and Accompanying Safety Person, the qualifications and training necessary for the appointment of Authorising Engineers and Authorised Persons, and the documentation for the application of these Rules and Procedures. These Rules and Procedures are set out in sections, clauses and sub-clauses. Annexes provide additional material to support relevant sections.
