Abstract
Cycle-friendly infrastructure is not a design guide for cycle facilities. It is a set of guidelines to assist those seeking to make the general highway infrastructure safer and more convenient for cyclists. It recommends a hierarchical approach, with appropriate emphasis being placed on reducing motor vehicle volumes and speeds, and using traffic management techniques to reduce accidents and to give cyclists a positive advantage.
