Abstract
Advises that local planning authorities (LPAs) are empowered, in the interests on amenity, to protect trees and woodlands by making Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs). LPAs have a duty to make provision where appropriate for the preservation and planting of trees when granting permission by imposing conditions and/or making TPOs.
