Abstract

Covers national policy, regional planning, the integration of policies at local level, the need for greater clarity in development plans on patterns of rural development and the role of transport. A range of positive recommendations are presented in Chapter 8 which are designed to improve and enhance land use planning policies for rural development, and contribute to the new agenda for the integration of countryside policies.
