Advises that: mineral planning authorities need to consider stability in relation to surface mineral workings and tips; local planning authorities need to consider stability in relation to development in, on or near abandoned surface mineral workings and tips; it covers design reports on restoration/landscaping schemes and outlines good practice in the design, assessment and inspection of excavated slopes and tips and related structures.
