Abstract
Applies to construction products in so far as the essential requirements in respect of construction works relate to them, and relates to any product which is produced for incorporation in a permanent manner in construction works, including both buildings and civil engineering works.

Repealed by Regulation (EU) No 305/2011. However, the main parts of its substantial Articles shall apply first from 1 July 2013. Until then, the CPD therefore remains in application. European Parliament voted in favour of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) on 18 January 2011. Normally EU Regulations enter into force 20 days after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), however, many of the provisions of the CPR will not apply until 1 July 2013 to allow for a transition period, when it will repeal and replace the Construction Products Directive 89/106/EEC (as amended by 1993/68/EEC - the CPD).
