Abstract
Provides procedural guidance on the operation of the revised prior approval procedures; lists the type of location for mast erection that are likely to be the most sensitive inland-use planning terms; explains the technical features of mobile systems and fixed wireless local loop systems; offers guidance on the presentation of information and applications to be supplied by code system operators to Planning Service Divisional Offices; and summarises the main permitted development rights for telecommunications, taking account of the changes made by the 1998 and 2000 Amendment Orders.

Provides guidance on the prior approval procedures contained in Schedule 1 Part 17 (Development by Telecommunications Code System Operators) of the Planning (General Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993, which was substituted by the Planning (General Development) (Amendment) Order 1998 and later amended by the Planning (General Development) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2000.
