Abstract

Guidance is given for the safe management of the risks from lead in the workplace, to support of the provisions of the control of lead at work regulations 2002. Aimed at managers, supervisors, safety representatives and anybody with a responsibility to control exposure to lead at work. Subjects covered include the notice of approval, a summary of the changes in the regulations and the ACOP, citation and commencement, interpretation, duties under the regulations, prohibitions, assessment of health risks, eating drinking and smoking. Also covers maintenance, examination and testing of control measures, air monitoring, medical surveillance, information, instruction and training, arrangements for dealing with accidents, incidents and emergencies.
