Abstract
Gives practical, state-of-the-art advice on the control within dwellings of noise from outside sources and noise transmitted within and between dwellings. It covers the following aspects of acoustic design in housing - i. appraisal of noise affecting the site, ii. planning to control external noise, iii. planning to control internal noise, iv. selection of appropriate forms of construction to control external and internal noise, and v. detailing for noise control.
