Abstract
Shackles similar to BS 3032, but using alloy steel twice as strong as mild steel and one and a half times as strong as higher tensile steel. Dee and bow shackles with four types of pin. Material, dimensions, heat treatment, workmanship, finish, screw threads, proof loading, marking, certification. Design for special (or unscheduled) shackles with different dimensions. Safe working loads 1 ton 2 cwt to 80 tons.
