Abstract
Intended to assist in the assessment of advanced systems to protect car occupants in frontal and side impacts and pedestrians in collisions with car fronts. This Guidance Note is not a legal document and compliance does not guarantee compliance with any regulatory requirement. This Guidance Note for Active Adaptive Secondary Safety Systems considers three types of systems. These are: a system to protect front seat occupants in frontal impacts, a system to protect front seat occupants in side impacts, and a system that could be fitted to the front of a car to protect pedestrians in frontal collisions.
