Abstract

Gives the results of a trial of traffic speed reduction and calming measures at TRL, in November 1992. Vehicles tested were pedal cycles, motor cycles, cars, buses, commercial vehicles, laden and unladen, an ambulance, a fire appliance and a towed caravan. In addition the mechanical assessments, the opinions of drivers, passengers and observers were also taken into account.
