Abstract
To help local authorities devise playing pitch strategies in their area. This document has gives details in 6 main sections: Section 1 - Introduction. Section 2 - The need to improve and protect the provision for pitch sports. Section 3 - A step-by-step guide to the playing pitch model. Section 4 - More detailed guidance. Section 5 - Turning your assessment into your strategy. Section 6 - Action and review. There are various appendices covering legislation, policy initiatives, strategies and plans, briefs for playing pitch strategy and improvement schemes, structures of the playing pitch strategy (PPS), construction/upgrade performance quality standards and pitch sizes.
