Abstract

Seeks comments on a draft of a new Planning policy statement (PPS) 6: planning for town centres. This PPS will replace Planning policy guidance note 6: town centres and retail developments. PPS6 sets out the Government's broad policy objectives relevant to planning for town centres in England, and its proposed planning policies that will help deliver these objectives. These policies are based on the principles of sustainable development and the need to sustain and enhance the role of town centres for the benefit of all.
