Abstract
Construction requirements and methods of tests for cables intended for use in fixed installations in industrial areas, buildings and similar applications. For use where current loading gives conductor temperature rise not exceeding 90°C and where maximum short circuit conductor temperature is 250°C.

Supersedes BS 4553:1992. The provisions introduced by amendment No.1:2004 are effective from 1st April 2004. The original version of this standard remains current until 31st March 2006 - and is available from BSI Customer Services.
